Fuel Efficient SUVs

Fuel Efficient SUVs for Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Drivers

Crossover SUVs – or compact SUVs – tend to be smaller than traditional SUVs. One can argue the dividing line is in the chassis, with SUVs being constructed on a truck chassis while compact SUVs are on a car chassis, but the main functional differences tend to be in handling, ability to navigate rough terrain and fuel efficiency. Traditional, full-size SUVs are great for going offroad and have more carrying capacity than compact SUVs, but they’re more expensive, less maneuverable and guzzle a lot more gas.

The rapid proliferation of compact and crossover SUVs is a clear indicator that American drivers like the storage space and comfort of SUVs but often prefer something smaller, more fuel efficient and more convenient for navigating bustling metro areas like Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
